Reporter. Host. Producer. Blogger.

I was born and raised in a small town outside of  Pittsburgh, PA where I developed a passion for sports as well the outdoors! I also love sharing stories about interesting people.

I've been lucky enough to follow a career path that has allowed me to do a little bit of all of the things I love!

I'm currently the Social Media Coordinator at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. I host all of the videos used for as well as all of the social media outlets.

I previously was an on-air news reporter at WJAC-TV in Johnstown, PA and before that, I was a  reporter, producer and promotions assistant at Sports Radio 93.7 The Fan, KDKA-FM. I covered the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and local Division-1 universities.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in Journalism in May 2012. While enrolled at ECU, I was a pole vaulter for the Track team, served as a staff writer for The East Carolinian and have received numerous awards for academics and athletics.

What people are saying about me

"The fun part for me was watching her grow every day to the point where I knew she could do the job whether it's interviewing Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger or a high school athlete. She became a reporter and earned the respect of the athletes and co-workers."

-- Jeff Hathhorn, Sports Director KDKA-AM/FM

"Abbey is an outstanding worker and an even better person. She was an absolute asset to our department when she worked with us as an intern. Our sports department was that much better because of Abbey Way!"

-- Brian Bailey, Sports Director/WNCT-TV

"It is rare that a professor has the opportunity to teach a student like Abbey Way. She has extraordinary talent and is completely dedicated and committed to being not only an excellent student, but a student athlete and an active participant in the East Carolina community."

-- Dr. Mary Tucker-McLaughlin, Assistant Professor at East Carolina University

"Ms. Way impresses me. A lot. And that is hard to do. My standards for being "highly impressed" are, well, quite high."

-- Dr. Brian Massey, Journalism Sequence Coordinator at East Carolina University

"I am continuously impressed by her intellectual enthusiasm, curiosity and ability to successfully balance the demands of collegiate athletics with her academic endeavors and community service."

-- Dr. Todd Fraley, Associate Professor and Coordinator for Undergraduate Studies at East Carolina University

"I have found her to be an exceptionally capable student and staff member. During my three years at East Carolina University, I've seen few as talented as Ms. Way."

--Paul Isom, M.A., Director of Student Media at East Carolina University
